The latest World Values Survey wave is now available to the general public. Over 50 countries were surveyed through the 2010-2014 period.
A diverse group of countries were ranked among the world's happiest, with Qatar topping the list (98% of residents described themselves as "rather" or "very happy"). The U.S. was in 18th place, behind Rwanda, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, and Sweden, among other countries.
At the very bottom end was Egypt, where only 25% of the population was reportedly happy.
